Paul Watson is a former international football manager (of the Federated States of Micronesia), and co-founder, former co-owner, and coach of a top-division football club (in Mongolia), the lead organiser of a football World Cup (for states and peoples not affiliated with FIFA), as well as a journalist, podcast host and author.
When not travelling the world experiencing unique footballing events, he writes for football media outlets from The Guardian to When Saturday Comes, in which he has a monthly column. He is the co-host of The Sweeper podcast, a popular bi-weekly look at global footballing stories, and is a regular guest on Guardian Football Weekly and TalkSport’s Hawksbee & Jacobs Show.
His first book, Up, Pohnpei – about his experience managing in Micronesia – was published by Profile in 2012.
He lives near Bristol with his wife and children.
